Lo que aprenderás
- The key idea: technology can change the way we work, but it cannot erase our human value. You are valuable because you are human, not because you can compete with a machine.
- Why questions like “Will I be replaced?” or “Am I falling behind?” are not signs of weakness but human questions about identity, and how to listen to fear without letting it make all the decisions.
- What AI does not replace (human presence, moral judgment, empathy, lived experience), and why the eight abilities that remain deeply human, from creativity with purpose to courage in uncertainty, are essential skills, not soft ones.
- How confidence grows when you move from fear to agency: swapping “Will AI replace me?” for “How can I use technology without losing myself?” and remembering you still have choices.
- The “My human advantage” reflection: what people come to you for, what you understand because of your life experience, what human quality you bring and what you can learn without abandoning who you are.
- A three-step confidence plan: learn one thing without trying to learn everything, name your human strengths and use them intentionally, and adapt with dignity, not panic. Start with one small step this week.

00Hello everyone, I am very glad to be here again. My name is Claudia, I come from Mexico. And before we begin, I want you to arrive here. So take a slow breath in and a slow breath out please. Today's webinar is called Still valuable. This is not a technical class about AI. We are not here to learn complicated software and we are not here to predict the future perfectly. Today we are here to talk about something that is really really human. We are going to talk about what happens inside of us when the world changes all the time really quickly.
55We are going to talk about the fear, the confidence, the purpose, the adaptation and the human value in an era that every day everything is changing. Many people hear about AI and immediately feel curious. But many people also feel worried about. They wonder if their work will still matter. They wonder if they will fall behind. They wonder if technology will move faster than they can. So today I want to begin with one clear message. Technology can change the way we work
53and I want to be very clear. Technology can change the way we work but it cannot change or erase our human value. Today this is a reflective space. You don't need to know everything about AI to be here. You do not need to have perfect answers. You only need to listen with honesty and kindness toward yourself. This is for yourself. The goal here is not to become a machine.
51The goal is to remember what makes us deeply human and to learn how to adapt without losing ourselves. So let's begin.
06The key idea for today is this. Technology can change the way we work but it cannot change or erase our human value. I want to say that the kindness log technology can change the way we work. It can change the tools we use. It can change how quick information moves. It can change how we write, organize, create, research, design and communicate. But technology cannot erase our human value. Sometimes when a new technology appears people begin to ask very personal questions.
01Will I still be useful? Will my experience still matter? Will my work still be needed? Will younger people understand this faster than I do? Will I be left behind? These are not just questions about work. Mainly they are questions about identity. The last week we talked about a lot the difference between identity and the image. Today the focus is in the identity because for many people work is not only a salary.
58Work is also a place where they feel capable, needed, respected, creative and meaningful. So when technology changes the work places it can feel as if something deeper is being threatened.
21But today I want us to separate two things. One thing is a tool that the name is the AI and the other thing is the person, is the human. Who is that person with the identity? Not also an image, a person with an identity. One is a tool, the other one is a human or the person. The tools can change people learn. Tools become faster. People is who bring the judgment. Tools process the information but people create meaning.
22Tools can assist the people carrying their responsibility. AI may change the tools. It does not change the dignity of the person using them. This is the heart of today's conversation. You are not valuable, sorry. You are not valuable because you can compete with a machine. You are valuable because you are human. And being human still matters, always. Next please.
09But all of these changes and to be in front of AI make us feel with fear. There is the fear behind AI. What happened? Many people are not only afraid of technology. They are afraid of becoming irrelevant. And that is a very important distinction. Sometimes when people say, I am afraid of AI. What they really mean is, I am afraid I will no longer be needed.
06I am afraid my skills will not be enough. I am afraid I will not understand fast enough. I am afraid the world will change without asking me if I am ready. Let's look at the common fears on this slide. The first one is, will I be replaced? This is a very understandable fear. When we hear that AI can write, design, analyze, translate, summarize, calculate and create content, it is natural to wonder where the human person fits. The second fear, am I falling behind?
05Many people feel that they are supposed to understand everything immediately. And it is not possible. New tools appear every week, new words appear, new platforms appear. And it can feel exhausting to keep up. The third fear is, do I still have something valuable to offer? And my answer is yes, for sure. And we are going to see in the meanwhile in a few moments. And this question can feel very tender. It touches self-worth. It touches confidence. It touches the need to feel useful, respected and meaningful.
06And the fourth fear is, what if I cannot keep up? This fear is not only about technology. It is also about pace. The world can feel too fast. And when the world moves too fast, we may begin to feel small. So I want to say this very clearly. These questions are not signs of weakness. They are human questions. They are signs of questioning about our identity, about our security and meaning and being challenged.
06Fear is not something to be ashamed of. Fear often appears when something important is at stake. If I feel fear, it may because my work matters to me. Because I care about my future and because I want to keep contributing. The invitation here is not to pretend we are not afraid. The invitation is to listen to the fear without letting it make all the decisions. Fear can be a sign, but it does not have to be the leader.
02Next, please.
05When the world changes quickly, we may question our role, our skills, our future. And here, this slide shows four words. Change, questioning, meaning and future. And these four words are connected. The first one is the change. And it happens when something outside of us shifts. It can be a new technology, a new expectation, a new way of working and new language appears.
01Then comes the questioning. It's when we begin to ask, what does this mean to me? Do I know enough? Do I need to reinvent myself? Do I have to become someone different? Then comes the meaning. And the meaning appears because when our role changes, we may also question our sense of purpose. If the task I used to do can now be done by technology, then what is my contribution? If the world no longer values the same skills,
00then where do I place my effort? And finally, the future. Something that scares us. What is coming next? Can I adapt? Will I have a place? Will I still matter? These questions can feel heavy, but they are also very human. Change shakes us because our identity is not only about what we do. Remember, identity is also about how we understand ourselves.
55It means, our identity means, because it is my values. It is deeper in myself, because it takes my choices, my values, my meanings, the way I see life. It's more than my image. Next, please.
27What AI can do? It's a very tough question. As today, can process a lot of information. Can automate tasks. Can generate content. Can support productivity. Can help organize ideas. Can speed up routine work. And a lot of more things can do. These are real abilities. And it is useful to recognize them.
23We do not need to deny that technology can do in order to protect human values. In fact, denying change usually makes fear bigger. This tool can do many things. But now, let me understand what I can do. Not do and how I want to use it. AI can support processing information, as I told you. It can help with repetitive tasks that take time and energy.
18Can support content generation. Can help create drafts, ideas, outlines. Or first versions. Can support productivity. Can help us move faster in some parts of our work. But there is another side of this slide. One is what AI does not replace. Does not replace human presence. Maybe you are going to say that they are robots. Yes, they are robots. But they are not human presence.
17Does not replace the moral judgment. It can't replace empathy. It is very human to empathy. It can't replace lived experiences. It can't replace the meaning, the purpose, the responsibility, the wisdom, the connection. All of them are really, really human values. And those things can't be replaced by the AI. Let's take a breath.
12Let's take to think about human values. Next, please.
27What remains deeply human? Human abilities continue to matter, especially in moments of uncertainty. The first ability is the creativity with purpose. AI can generate ideas, but human creativity is connected to intention. This is a very big difference.
22Creativity with purpose or with intention. We create because something matters to us. We create to express, to solve, to care, to connect with others, to serve to others or to give meaning. The second is the emotional intelligence. This means noticing emotions, understanding reactions, reading a room, listening beyond the words, and responding with sensitivity.
22Yes, sensitivity. The third is the ethical decision making. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done. Human beings must continue asking, is this responsible? Is this fair? Is this respectful? Who could be harmed? Who needs to be protected? They are really very human ethical decision making. The fourth is the compassion.
21Yes, the compassion. And the compassion is not only feeling sorry for someone else. No, compassion is more than that. It's the capacity to notice suffering and respond with care. The fifth is the storytelling. Human beings understand life through stories. We not only need that. We need context. We need memory. We need meaning. We need to understand why something matters. The sixth is to understand why something matters. The sixth is trust building. Yes, it's confidence.
22Trust is built over time. It is built through consistency with honesty, with presence and responsibility. A tool may support communication, but people, but humans build trust. The seventh is the contextual understanding. Human situations are really complex. What works in one place may not work in another. What is appropriate in one family, team, culture, or community may not be appropriate in another. And the last one is courage in uncertainty.
21This is the ability to move forward when we do not have all the answers. Uncertainty. And that is something that we need to know and may use need right now. These eight qualities are sometimes called soft skills. But I don't think they are soft. For me, they are essential and strong skills. A human infrastructure. They are what make work human. They are what make leadership human.
20They are what make care human. They are what make process meaningful. So when you think about the future, do not only ask, what technical skills do I need? No, no, no. Also ask, what human qualities do I want to strengthen? Because those qualities still matter. Next, please.
04From threat to tool. Yes, I am going to give you some tools here. Confidence grows when we move from feel, from feel that we have agency in not fear. Okay. Confidence grows when I move from the fear to the agency. Okay. And when we talk about fear, the question is, will AI replace me? And it sounds scary. And this question is understandable.
00But it can also make us feel powerless. And I don't want you to feel that way. When I ask only, will I be replaced? I feel as if the future is something happening to me and I have no role in it. But the agency question is different. How can I use, and I want to mark and to highlight use, how can I use technology without losing myself? This question gives us a little more ground,
55a little more power. And it doesn't deny the change. It doesn't pretend everything is easy. No. But it reminds us that we still have choices.
16Agency means I still have choices about what I learn. You don't need to learn everything at once, but I can learn one thing. Agency means I still have choices about how I adapt. I can adapt from panic or I can adapt from dignity. Agency means I still have choices about what values guide me. I can use technology to move faster, but I can also ask whether I am moving in the right direction. Remember the eight things we saw before. Agency means I can be curious instead of only afraid.
17It means I can ask for help. It means I can practice. I can make mistakes and keep learning. It means I don't have to keep to become someone else in order to grow. So today I want to invite a shift. Instead of thinking, technology is coming for me. I can try thinking. Technology is only a tool I need to understand. Choose and use wisely. Instead of thinking, I am already behind. We can try thinking. I can take one next step. Instead of thinking, I have no value.
15If I cannot do everything perfectly, we can try my value includes my capacity to learn, to adapt, to care and contribute. This is the movement from threat to tool. And it is not as this instant. It is a practice. That's why it is a tool. Remember baby steps. Baby steps to move forward. Next, please.
02We are going to do a short reflection exercise. It is called my human advantage. If you want, you can use a notebook only, or you can use a piece of paper, or you can use your phone notes or simply reflect quietly. We are going to answer four questions. The first one is, what do people come to me for? Think about this in a simple way. Maybe people come to you for advice, or come to you because your car are able to count them in difficult moments,
59or because you are really creative, or because you explain things clearly, or you are very practical, or you know how to care, or think of one or two answers. The second question is, what do I understand because of my life experience? This is very important. Your life has taught you things that no tool can live for you. Maybe you understand transition. Maybe you understand loss. Maybe you understand family responsibility. Maybe you understand migration, change, illness, caregiving, leadership, work pressure,
54failure, starting over, or resilience. Your experience is part of your knowledge. The third question is, what human quality do I bring to my work? Let's talk about empathy, patience, honesty, humor, warmth, responsibility, courage, the ability to listen, the ability to see what other means. And number four, what can I learn without abandoning who I am? What can I learn without abandoning my identity?
51This question matters because adaptation doesn't mean self abandonment. You don't need to become a completely different person. You don't need to learn everything in one week. You only need to choose one step. Maybe a step. Maybe you want to understand one concept or writing better prompts or use technology to organize ideas, save time, or support your work. And now, look at your answers. Your answers are your human advantage.
49Yes. And it is not about being better than a machine. No. It is about remembering what you bring as a person, your experience, your values, your judgment, your care, your ability to learn, your ability to give meaning. These are strengths you already carry into a changing world. The next, please.
32Purpose in a changing world. Purpose is not tied to a job title or platform or tool. Purpose, or meaning, is connected to contribution. Sometimes we connect our identity so strongly to our title that when the title changes, we feel lost. It happens, for example, when we say, I am this profession. I am this position. I am this label. I am this kind of worker. There is nothing wrong with being proud of a title or a role or position.
31But purpose is deeper, more deeper than a job title. Purpose is deeper than a platform. It's deeper than a trend, than a tool, than a moment of success. Because a job title can change. A platform may disappear. A trend may pass. A tool may become outdated. But contribution can continue. So, the reflection question here is what kind of difference do I want to make? Yes, what kind of difference I want to make?
29Maybe I want to solve problems. Maybe I want to help people feel understood. Maybe I want to create beauty. I want to care for others. I want to build trust. I want to support your family or community. There is a lot of things I can do. Next, please.
07And we are about to finish. But I want to give you some tools or some things that can give you a practical confidence plan. This plan has only three steps. The first one is learn one thing without trying to learn everything. Remember, baby steps, everything is a process. A little steps are easy to achieve them. The first step, I repeated, learn one thing without trying to learn everything.
04Many people feel overwhelmed because they think they need to understand all of AI immediately. And it is impossible. But confidence does not grow from trying to learn everything at once. Confidence grows from taking one clear step. Choose one thing, one tool, one skill, one question, one tutorial, one experiment. That's enough to begin. The second step is name your human strengths and use them intentionally. Remember, all of the human strengths
06we talk about. Empathy, responsibility, creativity, creativity, listening, normal hearing, listening, organization, ethical judgment, ability to connect with people. Name it, use it, protect it. Let technology support your work but do not let it make you forget your humanity. And the last step is adapt with dignity, not panic. I have to learn everything right now
02or I will be left behind. It is fear. Dignity says I can learn a step by step. Panic says I am not enough. Dignity says I am still valuable while I am learning. Panic says I have to become someone else and dignity said I can grow and can grow without abandoning myself. Protect yourself. Remember, this week choose one small step, not ten, only one.
57And take that step with dignity.
02So, now we need to close. Let's go to the last one, please. The other, please. Last one. I want to thank you to be here. On behalf of Love Pathways Wraparound, LEAF Wraparound and TuTerapia.com.mx. And remember, you are more than AI. You are human. You are a person with dignity. You are more than soft skills, remember.
01And embrace who you are and embrace and protect your dignity, your confidence. And you are human. Have a very good night. And see you next week. You are going to receive tomorrow more information and some exercise in your work. Good night and thank you so much.
